brief History
1992
The United Progressive Party was born.
Antigua Caribbean Liberation Movement (ACLM), Progressive Labour Movement (PLM) and the United National Democratic Party (UNDP) made an historic decision
to fight under a united flag and to unite behind a single standard.
1993
April 18
The first UPP Biennial Convention was held.
Baldwin Spencer was elected Political Leader while Tim Hector was appointed Deputy Political Leader following the amalgamation of the Progressive Labour Movement (PLM), the United National Democratic Party (UNDP), and the Antigua Caribbean Liberation Movement (ACLM).
Vincent “Tubby” Derrick was elected Chairman.
1994
